The location - both downtown Raleigh and the restaurants around Glenwood Avenue are in walking distance. WiFi was free. The staff was friendly.
The noise around the hotel is unbearable. Not only is there a traffic light regulating the traffic from Capital Boulevard, but there is also an Amtrak Railroad track nearby, with freight trains running by during the night and tooting their horns. The rooms are very worn down and filthy. The furniture is damaged and scratched, the curtains have stains and are torn. The windows looked like the had not been cleaned for years. The whole building had a strong artificial smell to it. The bathroom towels had holes and were rough as sandpaper. The bathroom mat was missing on several days.
The air conditioner quit working no one on the staff to fix it.
Location to concert venue. Red Hat Amphitheater. Staff was nice.
Sink became stopped up after use. Floor not very clean upon arrival.
Fitness center was one treadmill and two broken bikes. Business center was a single desktop, no printer.
It was just a stop to rest on our journey
Breakfast was taken away very fast. Price not exactly fair for what the hotel is. Don't think we will come back. Stuff could be more friendly.
- short way to bar district downtown - free parking and WiFi
- sink was dirty - air conditioning was dirty and looked very old
Price and location.
Seems to be a refurbished older hotel. No amenities and the rooms smell like smoke. Poor breakfast like all such places.
One of the lamps had a light hanging by the wires, a potential electrical hazard.
The continental breakfast was great. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. The staff made arrangements for us to check in early since we were going to a wedding in Raleigh earlier than 4pm.
The building needs to be updated. I was disappointed that my booking 931.341.972 was passed on incorrectly. I booked two rooms but when I called on Saturday, they only had one room in my name. They did have a room available and adjusted the reservation but it could have been a disaster.
The location was fantastic for walking downtown to the museums. The front desk clerk was very pleasant and helpful, and the breakfast wasn't bad.
The hotel could use some freshening up. The carpets need to be cleaned and the bedspreads looked really old. The mattresses need to be replaced, and my room smelled really musty.
Good Location for the money. mini-fridge and microwave in room.
Breakfast was being put away before breakfast hours were even over. Room was kind of dirty and there was a huge gap under the door that let a lot of hallway light and sound in.
Hotel staff was super accommodating and stored my bags, as I had both an early arriving and late departing flights. Having a fridge in room was also awesome for storing my delicious leftovers so I could enjoy them as a late-night snack! Easy and safe walk to downtown from hotel, very quick uber ride to bars and nightlife.
The amenities of the bathroom; not until I was in the shower did I realize that neither of the bottles provided were conditioner, only shampoo and body lotion. Minor inconvenience, didn't ask desk if they had any because at the point it was too late and not that big of a deal. Also, hotel was very full on Saturday night, and lots of late-night noise in hallway from other guests, although a little of that can be expected in a city setting, it was also mildly disturbing --- seemed like larger groups of late-night bar patrons.
I left too early for breakfast.
The repairs on the bathroom were not very well done. The clerk at night when I got there was reluctant to give me change so that I could pay the cab driver.
Cracks in the ceiling and the paint was peeling off. Very thin walls. People hanging around in the halls and slamming doors at all hours of the night.
Needed some minor upkeep work. Mirror frame in bathroom really rough shape. Breakfast was fine but needed to be replenished sooner.
